| Fredericton is situated on the banks of the second longest river on North America's Atlantic coastline...the Saint John. There are several places to launch a canoe or kayak for a relaxing day trip. Maybe a trip down one of its tributaries would be more suitable. The Nashwaak River begins just southeast of Juniper at Nashwaak Lake. It rolls on for 113 km before reaching the Saint John. Upper sections include some demanding whitewater while the lower section offers peace and relaxation. Many parts of this river are easily accessible for a customizable trip. There are many other rivers offering great paddling in the vicinity, like the Maquadavic, Cains, Miramichi, Little, Salmon, etc. Escape for a day or several days on one of many beautiful New Brunswick rivers.
